Pirate Bay Verdict, Swedish Postal Service To Be Sued Next!

April 20, 2009

Hello!

While I was following up on the Pirate Bay verdict I came across an interesting argument, don’t remember where.

If people In Sweden started to make copies of their CD’s and DVD’s, and shipped it to their friends. Then the IFPI could sue the Swedish Postal Service for compensation yes?

According to the Swedish Court verdict on the Pirate Bay, It seems they can do it now.

Suse Studio Alpha Review!

April 7, 2009

Well hello!

I have gotten a quite nice invite to Suse Studio, which allows you to make your own custom Linux Appliance based on OpenSuse.

To say it short, its Linux-Custimization for dummies, free, and it even makes you the VM-Ware M, LiveCD and USB images. You can testdrive it live and customize it even more. I JUST LOVE IT!.

Look at this Picture of my own Personal Linux Appliance called Kelzor (Based on KDE4)

You can choose a wide variaty of software you want on it, customize it to your own look and feel. Dont you just love my logo?

There are more things to improve, like the lack of XFCE and notes funktion/version tracking.

But for an alpha, its pretty darn good and impressive.

My review landed in China!

February 26, 2009

Well well.

My review of the AKG 450 reached a chinese forum. I got quite suprised and it’s quite fun to know even the chinese look at my reviews :)

So if anyone from that forum reads this: Yes i know my English is so bad your translators go bananas :D

I’m entering the world of Blu-Ray

February 11, 2009

Well I am now entering the world of Blu-Ray moves.
I have thought about this move for a long time, and i have finally made up my mind.

I were going to order the Sony BDPS550, but heck no. I ordered the Playstation 3 instead for 50 bucks more.

It’s nicer to have a “Multifunctional Blu-Ray player”.

Ordered 6 different movies to test out if Blu-Ray really is the big thing, if not. I must crack my PS3.

European Gamers: Boycott Steam!

January 2, 2009

A separate website that deals with the Steam “feature” of localized currencies for continental Europe and the United Kingdom has been created: steamunpowered.eu

For the last years since the start of the service in 2003 Valve’s Steam store offered games exclusively in the U.S. dollar currency. With an exchange rate averaging about 1 EUR : 1.4 USD over the last year this aspect made it very attractive for Europeans in the Eurozone to buy their games online from Valve, which typically sold a few percent below normal retail prices.

No more, they say, for this year’s Christmas (the timing must be a coincidence)! Valve decided to silently move all European customers – except for UK citizens, who will be billed in Pounds Sterling form now on – over to a now Euro-based  version of their store. Why is this bad for the European people, you may wonder? Finally, your credit card company won’t cheat you with bad exchange rates and processing fees anymore, you might say? Well, here are a few points you should think about:

  • Valve decided to use a 1 : 1 exchange rate for the new Euro pricetags of most of the games in the Steam store. This means that games that used to be sold for 9,99 $ now cost 9,99 €, which yields an increase in costs of more than 25% for European customers at the current exchange rate of EUR : USD. More examples are given in this post over at the Steam forums, e.g. COD4 now sells for about 80$ instead of 49,99$ as can be seen here. Interestingly enough, prices for customers for the UK are well below USD or EUR prices. People on the Steam forums smell a violation of EU law there!
  • Even Europeans that live outside of the Eurozone, e.g. citizens of Sweden or Denmark, are also billed in Euros from now on. Intentional, so that Valve can make a little extra cash in times of economic recession? Or just incompetence by failing to realize that not all EU member states actually have the Euro as a currency.

What can YOU do against this?

  1. Don’t buy from Steam until this issue is resolved. You are the customer, you decide where you spend your money. Most games are less expensive when you buy them from Amazon or from your local retail store and also include a manual, a box and an installation medium (DVD/CD)!
  2. File a complaint at the website of the European Commission (Deutsch, Français, Italiano, Español, and in other languages by selecting them from the top-right of the page). Here’s an example of how to fill out the form in English. At the end of this article you’ll see what I submitted to the Consumer Liaison Office in German. Go ahead and use it as a template for your complaint!
  3. Let Valve know that you are irritated by this business decision by posting in their forums and by joining the 1€ ≠ 1$ group.

As far as I’m concerned, Left 4 Dead was definitely the last game I bought from Steam (then with U.S. Dollars) until Valve returns to a fairer billing scheme!

AKG K 450 Review – It’s sound is legendary

November 7, 2008

Well this is my second review.
This one will be about a headphone from the legendary AKG, The K450. It is the successor of the K416p which i loved quite mutch.
They have made.. something i cant describe.. its the best portable headset i have ever encountered in my whole life.
Just to say this, AKG.. You guys know how to make truly wonderfull headphones.

So lets start.

AKG K 450 The Review!

AKG and Iphone, dream come true..

AKG and Iphone, dream come true..

Package – What you get for 200 bucks!
)

You get:

  • 1 Hardcase box with zipper for transport
  • Jackplug Adapter
  • Minijack Adapter
  • 1.1m cable
  • 0.8m cable
  • One AKG K 450 with detachable cable.

Unboxed

Build
Well the build is accauly quit good. Its hard plastic surround the aluminium “headholder”. It got cussins on the underside so you get a nice feel on the top of your head when having it on. The Epic 3d axis folding mechanism, and my god you wont belive it!

Awsomenes..

Awsomenes..

The new “Cushins” are awsome, i just love having the headphones on!, And better yet, they won’t come of easy, you need to get beat by mike tyson on the face to accualy get them of your head. They are way better than the K 416p, waaayyy better.

The cord is detachable, Finaly!

The cord is detachable, Finaly!

And i remember back in the days when the audiocord on my 416 got ruined, my life got ruined then. And now AKG has finaly started to release them with detachable cord, so we can change it when it goes “haywire”.

Sound

Ahh yes, the sound. Well lets go into specs here.

  • Frequency range (Hz-kHz) 11-29.5
  • Input impedance (ohms) 32
  • Sensitivity (dB SPL/V) 126
  • Headphones weight without cable (g) 120

Im going to explain fast why these headphones are so darn good.

They go from the wooping 11hz to the nonhearable 29.5khz.
Have a nice impedance of 32 ohm, that means they dont demand mutch and can play very loud even on mp3 players and bad computer soundcards.
They got a wooping sensitivity of 126 fuckings desibels. That means they will play so loud you will destroy your ears! tenfold!.

But how does this affect the general sound?

The sound is quite correct, the bass i jawdropping because of the new cushins. The midrange is quite good, and the trible is just amazing, loads of details. Nerly beating my XTZ 99 2.2 v2006 speakers with the Doxa 70 amplifier.

  • Did i say Tinitus?

Conclusion:
This is the most impressive and goodsounding headphones ever concived for the consumer marked.

Benq E2200 HDA Review

November 6, 2008

Well this is my review of the Benq E2200 HD /A. Took quite some time to get ready to make this one.
But please, im not a rocket scientist in review, just gonna write plain and simple what i like and disslike about it and yes, i do got pictures.

Benq E2200 HDA

Both Screens

Quick Specs:

  • Panel: TN
  • Size: 21.5 inches
  • Native Resolution: 1920 x 1080 (Yeah 16:9 FFS!)
  • 5 ms / 2ms grey to grey
  • 300 cd/m2
  • Contrast: Static 1000 :1, Dynamic 10 000:1
  • Connections HDA: D-Sub/VGA
  • Connections HD: D-Sub/VGA, DVI-D, HDMI

As you can see the specs are quite heavy for this ultracheap screen, i payed 1500kr / 250 dollars each. But dont worry, they really live up to the hype, cheap screens that accualy work!.
Build
The plastic fantastic

Most of the screen is just plastic fantastic all the way. The foot itself is plastic, but has a handy “cableholder”. But i shit you not.

THis cheapass screen has a fucking VESA…

plastic fantastic

You also cant tilt it so mutch.

Max “Upwards”
up

And “Down”
img_1712

So general build conclusion:
Its plastic, but VESA-tastic, if you dont like the foot get a new “screenholder?” :D

Screen Quality:
Forwarning, this screen is based on a TN Panel, dont think for a moment that this screen is like the 700buck Samsung one with S-PVA.

pixelmadness

I will just say this.. WOW.. I just love having high resolution, its totaly amazing! And the pixels are reaaally tiny also, nerly laptopish :|

As i only got the Canon G9 and bad lighting i cant really show how the colors are, but if some are interested here are some pics.

img_1718
Red works right?….

Viewing Angle!

Well since this is a classic TN panel we are all scared of the viewing angel.

Desktop:

General Games:
img_1719
img_1720
img_1721

Viewing angle conclusion: For you infront of the screen it will look wonderfull, people on the floor or sealing wont. People on the sides will watch the porn your running aokay.

LIGHTLEAKAGE!
img_1723
Well this screen has some lightleakage, its not mutch, you have to be a bitch to see it, and you wont care watching porn or gaming CS, WOW, Fallout.

Grand Finalè:

This screen beats the shit out of every other screen i have seen in the 22 “cheap range”

The Postive:

  • The Colors are amazing.
  • Black is pretty.. black?
  • 1920×1080p / 16:9 screen for Computer use.
  • It got VESA of you want another holder.
  • For a TN panel the viewingangle is quite good.
  • You get fucking 2×21.5 inches (3840×1080) for the price of 1x 24 inch (1920×1200)
  • And the screen looks good :)

The Negative:

  • The buildquality aint the best, its all plastic-fantastic
  • Got lightleakage like the rest of the cheap screens
  • Only VGA on the “HDA” edition
  • Dynamic Contrast is crap, so dont have it on.

FInal Word:

Well this screen is tha shit, and will be the current Bang for the Buck screen. Dirt cheap and delivering a quite good picture and amazing resolution for a 22 inch “cough 21.5 inch cough”.

If you want a new screen, 22 inch, i would recommend the this one, but the HD edition, because it got HDMI and DVI also. But jesus christ, this screen is awsome.. get it folks, you wont regret.

Benq E2200 HD Arrived.

October 16, 2008

Well my new screens have Arrived and has been burned inn for a week now.
